Can Mi Band work with my smartphone? Check before you buy!!!

Don't assume that Mi Band will work with any phone. To the surprise of many, Mi Band will not work with some of its own's companies' phone!!!

Rule of thumb, if the device has Bluetooth 4.0, most probably it is supported.

Self tested:

  • NO: iPhone 4 or generations before - It will not work. Although you can install the Mi Fit app into your phone, it would not be able to pair or detect the exisiting of your Miband.

Baby Fullmoon? How about giving away Justart?

WHAT IS JUSTART?
It is what the name suggest. It is Just Tarts. Tarts, another name for Cupcakes!!! Or some call Chinese Confectionery Bakery.

Normally in Chinese culture, when newborn baby full moon (meaning turns 1 month old since birth), the delightful parents of the newborn would give gifts to the friends and family who have wishes the parents. Parents would give out return gifts to those who have given Angpow or Gifts to their newborn. Of course, this is not limited to return gifts, the parents can give to people around them that have helped them out in a way of appreciation.

If you are in Penang or the vicinity of Penang, then you are in luck. You can give something special that others might have not received before.

Below is a sample of what you can give your friends and family. It can include Cupcakes, Red Boiled Egg, sticky cake or you can give just Cupcakes. There are more than 12 variety package to choose from.

HOW TO ORDER?
Ordering is easy. Even last minute, you can do ordering 2 days before the actual date. There are special services such as custom printing / baby photos / special cake. As you can see in the above pic, you can include a picture of your cute baby on the box and it is complimentary from Justart!!!

WHERE TO ORDER or COLLECT your GIFTS?
There are two branches in Penang. One at Krystal Point, Bayan Lepas, and the other at Gurney Plaza. Gurney Plaza branch need to reconfirm if it is still there. It might have been closed down. (TBD)

Below is the map showing the Krystal Point's Branch.

Going to Subang Airport? Must read this...

This is an Update from the previous post of 4 ways to go to Subang Airport.

After taking the the trip from Terminal Bersepadu Station to Skypark/Subang Airport/SZB, would like to post an update on the notes.

1st of all, there is no bus shuttle services from Kelana Jaya to Subang Airport. They have discontinued it. So only other option is to take Taxi, which cost RM25 without meter. IT wook around 12 mins of Taxi ride (going thru Ara Damansara)

Secondly, the KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya LRT ride is pretty fast and smooth. Average one stop is around 2 minutes + and it is only 9 stops instead of 11 stops mentioned in the previous post. I took the train from KL Sentral around 10.30am and reach at Kelana Jaya 10.50am.

Finally, the total cost update as follow.

Comparison of 4 Ways to go to Subang Skypark Airport from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS)

Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport / Subang SkyPark / SZB  means the same Airport.

It is located in Subang, Selangor as shown in Google map above.

Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) is located right next to Bandar Tasik Selatan's Train station which connects to many different type of rail. (LRT/ KTM/ KL transit)

This is one the best place you can connect to your next destination, no matter you are going to KLIA, KLIA2, city center, Ampang, Kelana Jaya, and more.

In this article, we are going to explore 4 ways to go from TBS to Subang Airport. You might ask why would people be interested in doing so? Well, for one, Subang Airport currently is having Malindo Airline and also Firefly Airline (MAS low cost wing) flying in/out from the Airport. This airport can connect travelers to many great destinations e.g. Melaka, Penang, Langkawi, Johor, Singapore, East Malaysia, and nearby Asia Pacific Countries.

We'll be exploring 4 ways to travel in terms of Cost, Time, Convenience and Distance.

Let's get started!!!

1st Option:
It is the most direct but also the most expensive option.
It is to take a taxi from TBS to Subang Airport.

Distance and cost
Google map estimate the distance to be 30km. In terms of cost, that would put us at around MYR 14.25 per 10km according to the cheapest taxi rate shown in SPAD taxi fare information. Total would be MYR14.25 x 3 = MYR 42.75 (Source)

Time of the travel estimated by the Google map is around 35mins around mid day time.
Of course, by doing this, it is the very convenient and no worry of getting lost in KL. However, you do have to take caution of Traffic Jam in KL as huge Traffic Jam could cause you to miss your flight.

2nd Option:
This is to take Bus from TBS to Subang Airport. Since TBS is a bus station, it might make sense to take a Bus from TBS to Subang Airport.
Well, according to google map, if you would take KTM and bus from TBS to Subang Airpot, it would take you 3 hours to reach your destination.

This probably will be the cheapest solution, although someone would need to go and check the bus fare from RapidKL website.

3rd Option:
Overview: TBS - LRT at Bandar Tasik Selatan - Transit at Masjid Jamek to another line - Kelana Jaya - Shuttle/Taxi to Subang Airport.

Starting at TBS, walk over to the Bandar Tasik Selatan LRT station.
According to the Journey planner at the website, it will cost you MYR 4.00 for the Journey to Kelana Jaya LRT station.

If you check the number of LRT stations, it would be 8 stations on Ampang Line towards Sentul Timur then change your line at Masjid Jamek LRT station. Walk over the road and then take the Kelana Jaya line for another 11 stations. Total of 19 station. Unsure how long that would take but that is a lot of stations to sit through.

Journey Planner direction and Cost

Frequency of LRT train on Ampang Line

After you have arrive at Kelana Jaya LRT station, you can then have a choice of a Taxi or the KL transfer to Subang Terminal. The Transfer which is servicing as per the image below to all those stations. I have not gotten the price or the detail schedule from the company. The only info is that it would be running from 9am to 11.20pm daily and the frequency would be half an hour during the peak time (Morning and also right after work hour during the evening), and non-peak time would be every 1 hour.

KL transfer to Subang Terminal Airport

4th Option:
Overview: TBS - KLIA Transit at Bandar Tasik Selatan - Transit at KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya line - Kelana Jaya - Shuttle/Taxi to Subang Airport.

4th Option would be similar with option 3 except for the fact that from Bandar Tasik Selatan, we would take the KLIA transit to KL Sentral straight instead of taking the LRT.

This would be much faster and at the cost of MYR4.20. Then from KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya station would be 11 stations at MYR2.10. Total MYR 6.30 not including the last stretch of Kelana Jaya station to Subang Terminal Airport.

Option 4 - Journey Planner from KL Sentral to Kelana Jaya

One thing to note, although KLIA Transit is fast, it also have less frequency; it's frequency is every 20 mins during peak hours and every 30mins during off-peak hours. For the very detail schedule, you can find it at this link.
KLIA Transit Train Time table
Below is showing the Kelana Jaya Line, it's interval is much faster compare to Ampang Line, so it notes that taking Ampang line in Option 3 might be very time consuming.
Option 4 Kelana Jaya Line Train Frequency

KL transfer to Subang Terminal Airport

Table Comparison:
Finally, let's have a short comparison in a table format for us to digest all the above's information.
Table of Comparison between various options for Travel from TBS to SZB Airport

Conclusion:
As a conclusion, if you can afford it and you willing to take the risk of on the road (Traffic condition), I would recommend you to take Option 1 Taxi.
Otherwise, I would recommend to take the Option 4 which is KLIA transit + LRT. It is the balance between all the factors (Duration, costs, convenient and Distance). For the exact duration required for the journey, it is very subjective as it depends on time of the day, but I'll try to get a real life duration for this article as soon as I can.

Happy Traveling and Safe Flying.
